Meet the members of WUG! Below you will read about a group of individuals that are not only fun and have a great time when together but a group that has a commonality. They share a love of Whiskey. Some for Bourbon, some for Scotch or Irish and some, the love of it all. Our members aim to expand their knowledge, their understanding and appreciation for what goes into the most expensive, the horribly cheap and the perfect daily sipper. We hope you find a member that aligns with your tastes and perhaps take some of their recommendations.
The Membership

Founding member. Tom along with Brian founded the Whiskey UnderGround. Tom enjoys a wide variety of whisky and enjoys the process. Learning of the subtle and not so subtle nuances of whisky has become a fun hobby.

Founding member. Brian joins Tom as founding member of WUG. The only thing that quiets this man down is a fine Rye whiskey. Brian lets very few into his preferences circle. So we will just refer to him as a whiskey free spirit.

Josh is one of our original members of WUG! He also is the head of our web design as well as our other branded materials. Being more of a tequila drinker and Ole Smokey-Salted Carmel whiskey drinker, Josh has found himself slowly becoming a true whiskey drinker.

Original Member-Matt comes to WUG with one standard. Does the whiskey come in a plastic bottle? If not, he will likely not purchase it. In all seriousness, Matt is our "Tennessee connection" and brings us treats from his wife's family in that area (She's also part of WWW).

Landis, otherwise known in WUG as “Yoda”, is our WUG expert. We look to him for guidance on all things whiskey. To you sir, we raise our 🥃.

Adam is one of our newer member of WUG. What he doesn’t realize is that he, single handedly, is the reason that WUG exists. Henceforth, he shall be known as the “Godfather”. Thank you for your service Adam.

Ryan is our newest member of WUG, joining us in February of 2019. Ryan made his impact on WUG by not only arriving with 2 whiskeys but also bringing his grandfather’s traveling whiskey glasses. This makes him alright in our books. Welcome to the club Ryan!

Marty is part of our newest class joining WUG, coming to us in May of 2019. Marty brings with him only the awesomest of beards that guides his rating efforts when tasting the finest of whiskey. WUG salutes you and your beard.

Yale is our WUG snow bird. He is in Florida for 6 months of the year and in Michigan the other 6 months. Because of this, Yale is a member but will act as a correspondent while in Florida. Yale also leans toward the Scotch when choosing his favorite whiskey.
Favorite: Scotch

Barb joins WUG as our resident drinker of all things Whiskey liquor. She likes the sweet stuff and that is ok. Barb also finds her self double dipping in the Wine Wives of Wug. Welcome Barb.
Favorite: Whiskey Liquor-Ole Smokey Salted Carmel

Our newest associate member does not mess around with rating systems. Your whiskey either gets one of the following 2 ratings…
Awesome
You suck again.

Joining WUG in early September, Heather started off her membership with a WUG greeting…full of whiskey. We ask that you consider slowing it down and taste the notes of smokey peat rather than letting it smack you in the face. Welcome Heather.

Timmy B. is a man of many beverages and can often be found with a tall YETI tumbler with any one of a variety of Rum mixes. Timmy B. does enjoy a fine scotch every now and again (especially a smooth Johnny Walker Blue Label). Welcome to the club Timmy! Oh BTW, don’t challenge him to a game of B-Ball, you’ll lose.

Laura slowly found herself partaking in WUG type festivities. She found one of her favorites when she was introduced to Grand Traverse Distillery’s Ole George Double Barrel. You’re welcome Laura.

Geoff has secretly participating in WUG but was unable to partake in our monthly meetings due to his complex work schedule. It wasn’t until September that Geoff was able to make it official and join us as “The King”. Let it be known that this is a self proclaimed title and has not been endorsed by WUG(not yet anyways).
Favorites:
Irish Whisky (Jameson is a staple)

Blake joins WUG club as a new member (9/28/19) and our as our second whiskey distiller. His presence is a blessing as our “Yoda” has been overloaded in needing to share his wisdom with all the rest of us “Padawans”. Blake, we welcome you “Obi Wan”.

Andy joined us on 10/19/19 and did so guns a blazin’… He won the group over and had us at “I didn’t think I should come empty handed…”. Well done Andy, well Done. As Andy joined our club, he was quickly labeled “The Toaster”. Andy will now provide each and every WUG meeting that he is part of with an official toast. Welcome Toaster.

Corey has been meaning to join us at WUG for quite some time but had to finish being a badass providing us with the freedom to have clubs such as these by serving overseas. Thank you for your service and thank you for joining WUG!
